765th TRSB 2006 Reunion Atlanta, GA
The 765th TRSB Reunion is on track for the week of September 10th through September 13th, 2006 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Holiday Inn Select – Atlanta Perimeter, Exit 20 on I-285 in the northeast perimeter of Atlanta, Georgia.
The Atlanta reunion activities have been coordinated tentatively as follows:
September 10th: Arrival and registration in the morning.
(Sunday) In the afternoon, setup your pictures and scrapbooks in the Trinity Room.3 & 4, and relax with friends. Auction items will be displayed in the Hospitality Suite.
If there is enough interest, the group could take a bus tour of the City of Atlanta, or relax and visit and play Bingo for cash and prizes. PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR DESIRES.
September 11th: In the morning, relax and visit with friends, play Bingo, or visit the (Monday) local malls. Lunch is on your own.
In the afternoon, we will take a bus trip to the Cyclorama to see a 360 degree overview on a rotating platform of the Civil War Battle of Atlanta – “Sherman’s March through Atlanta,” and see the locomotive that chased down the “General” in the great Locomotive Chase resulting in the first eight Medal of Honor awarded by our Country. From there we would go to the Coke Cola Museum and across the street to the Atlanta Underground for shopping and dinning on your own. Buses will return to the Hotel for those who do not want to attend the Braves baseball game between Atlanta and Philadelphia at 7:35 pm. Seats will be along the third or first base line.
September 12th: There will be free time in the morning to: get extra snooze time; go (Tuesday) shopping; visit with friends; enter a puzzle contest; or just relax.
Lunch is on your own. After lunch, there will be a Bingo session.
The annual dinner and auction will be held at 5:30 pm in the Trinity Rooms 2, 3& 4. Due to Atlanta Alcohol Beverage regulations, a cash bar will be setup outside the dining hall for those who desire some spirits with your meal. (The hospitality suite will maintain a free bar during the reunion).
September 13th: In the morning there will be a joint meeting with the ladies to discuss
(Wednesday) the 2008 reunion location. Following lunch on your own, the buses will leave the hotel about 4:00 pm to journey to Stone Mountain to take in the sites and sounds of the old south. Each will receive an “All Attractions Pass” to attend the various attractions on the attached sheet. There are several different restaurant/snack bars where you can eat with friends or as a group and not leave the attraction area. There are shuttles within the attraction area to move you from one place to another should you want to give your feet a rest. The Attraction Area includes an Antebellum Plantation, 4-D theater, train ride around Stone Mountain, a paddlewheel boat cruise on Stone Mountain Lake, and many more attractions. The evening will conclude with the spectacular laser show with fireworks and special effects choreographed to popular and patriotic music.
September 14th: Time to pack-up and say good-byes to friends for another year. Check(Thursday) out is at 12:00 noon. The room rate will be the same for those who want to arrive several days early or extend their stay following the reunion. The Braves will be in town and will be playing every night during September 10th through the 17th.
