Martha Ellen Casner married William Shipp. She was the
only member of the Martin Casner family to stay in Texas.
She married William Shipp and they remained ( or returned
) and settled in
Willow City Gillespie Co., TX.
He was also a Texas Ranger.

He served in the 16th Texas Confederate Infantry Regiment Lucketts Brigade Company C -Bowers company (regimental history and timeline) from March 1862- April 1863.
For his service in the Civil War he received a pension as

Johnson lived with the WA Shipp family In Willow City in 1897. He lived there
while he taught at Rocky School, and in his memoirs he said that he spent many
hours around the fire at the Shipp house listening to the experiences of
frequent guest,

Rufus Perry, the Indian fighter. He may have several family connections
including serving with Jessie Billingsley at Battle of San Jacinto.
