NY, and died July 11, 1884 in Ames, IA. He married HANNAH ( we do not know her

He
was a grocer and was born in New York. He married Hannah (?) born c1797)
Census data indicates there were several children On the 1850 census
Cornelius, Hannah and Eunice (c1828-)a daughter, are listed in Rochester,
NY.
We knew he had another
daughter at least because the news article said he visited a son in laws
home before he disappeared. [we haven't seen the news article...Earl F.
Soper saw it and wrote about it in the book 'New Soper Compendium'.

Anyway, Cornelius turned up in
Ames, Story, Iowa. We knew his son Thomas K. Soper went there too. Thomas
according to the 1880 census was born 1837. On the 1880 census it lists his
wife as Alzinia 44 years born NY. Ella C. 22 years born in IA, John C. 17
years born IA, Bertha 12 born IA, Blanche 10 born IA and Frederick K. Soper
7 born IA. It lists his brother in law Martin 60 yrs as 'Ryesson' and nephew
Stonewall 16. [It says Martin is married but doesn't list his wife.]
Father, Cornelius Soper is
also in Ames, Story, Iowa and is 87 yrs, born NY and is divorced. |

3. STONEWALL JACKSON4 RYERSON (JANE3 SOPER, CORNELIUS2, TIMOTHY1) was born June
1861 in New York, and died June 30, 1931 in Chicago, IL. He married MARGARET
CHESNUT, daughter of BENJAMIN CHESNUT and CATHARINE BRIGMAN. She was born
September 04, 1864 in Chillicothe, MO, and died August 01, 1947 in Chicago, IL.
Children of STONEWALL RYERSON and MARGARET CHESNUT are:
i. LU LU5 RYERSON, b. March 27, 1887, Sioux City, Iowa d. September 12,
1958, US Army Base Hospital Frankfurt Germany.
ii. CARL RYERSON, b. February 1890, MO; m. MUNCIE; b. 1897, IL.

Soper line
Cornelius Soper (1748-c1825), married Jane DeGraff
(1751-1835). Cornelius died in Dutchess County, New York, and Jane is buried
in New Paltz, New York. Their children included: Timothy ( -1826); John
(c1770-1864); Abraham (c1776-1854); Moses (c1781-1856): Hester (Lansing)
(c1793- ); Mary (Sturgus) (c1795- ): and David Soper (1799-1873).

Timothy Soper ( -1826) did not choose to go to Grass Lake, Michigan with
brother John or to Ulster County, New York, with brothers, Abraham, Moses,
and David. Rather, he sought his fortune in Monroe County, New York. Timothy
married Sarah Williams, in 1798, in Pleasant Valley, Dutchess County, New
York. Their children included: CORNELIUS; David (1806-1861); a daughter, who
married Russell Dickenson; Owen (c1805-1858); and Lucinda Soper (1817-1832).
Both Timothy and Sarah died in 1826, a few months apart.
